Naughty or Nice?

Aubree was snooping under the tree a little bit today.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Hanging Out with Ole St. Nick

Aubree got to sit on Santa's lap this weekend. She didn't cry... much. Actually, she wasn't particularly frightened of Santa, but she really was having a better time with Mommy. So, she got a little grumpy. What can I say? I'm just more fun than Santa.
(Sorry about the picture quality-- it's a picture of a picture.)

Thanksgiving- Caleb & Shay

We spent Thanksgiving at Great-grandma's house. We had a great time, and it's such a blessing to have a family like mine. Aubree got to hang out with her cousins, Caleb and Shaylen, my brother's kids. Aubree is all smiles when it comes to her cousins. Shaylen can really get her into giggles. It's nice that she has big cousins to look out for her, and they were all looking pretty sharp on Thanksgiving! Being an aunt is the next best thing to being a mommy, and I hope that Aubree means as much to them as they do to me.

Snuggle Bug

Aubree doesn't sleep on her back anymore. I went to check on her during a nap one day, and this is how I found her with her cute little bottom in the air. It just makes you wanna snuggle up with her, doesn't it?

6 Month Pictures

Here's just a handful of the awesome pics Joel did for us! Thanks buddy! We love the pictures, and we love you!!!

"Mommy, What's with the camara? I thought we were playing."
"Gimme, gimme, gimme!"
"Okay, I guess I have a couple more juicy smiles for you!"

"Here's a sweet one!"

"... and this one is a little rambunctious."

*************************

Hey! Mommy finally found some time to return to the blog. We had some pretty good times with Aubree this weekend. She got a visit from her Grandma Cain and her big cousins, Caleb and Shay. She also got some quality time with her Daddy while I went to the Colts game on Sunday. Woohoo!! (Thanks, Jenn!) Her biggest changes lately are mostly in the way she chats. Today on the way home from Dana's, she sounded like she was singing a little song to herself. The only lyric was "Ahhh," but it was really adorable. She went on for quite awhile. It made me chuckle. So did this...

This is what happens when we let Aubree do her own hair. :-)
Okay we may have helped her a little.

*******************
Hopefully, we'll be seeing a lot of you in person over the next few weeks! I'm ready for some Thanksgiving! We have a lot for which to be thankful!

More giggles

This video will probably be better to listen to than watch since the camera is bouncing and daddy is bouncing while holding Aubree. So, if you are prone to motion sickness...be warned! All that said, Aubree is going on a giggle fest again! Good stuff!

Good Eats!

Aubree gets really excited and flaps her arms like a bird! It's pretty funny! Though does make it difficult to get the spoon in her mouth!

Giggles

Aubree can do cool things when she's not mad, contrary to what some people might think! Here she is cracking herself up!

Just sitting around

Aubree can pretty much sit up all on her own for an indefinite length of time. Every now and then she'll tip over, but for the most part doesn't need any help staying up.
Not sure what she's looking at, but most likely it's the person not taking the picture!

Here's Aubree with her friend Catrece before our Bible study tonight. Catrece can sit up too, but is still a bit tipsy. I think she fell over about 3 times in the course of a few minutes while we were trying to get pictures!

Go Colts!

The Colts have needed a bit more cheering lately, so we finally put Aubree in the Colts cheerleader outfit that Grandma and Grandpa Cain got her a few weeks ago. As it turns out, it worked! Here we are enjoying the nice weather outside before the game.

Trick-or-Treat!

Aubree started out in a chile pepper costume that we borrowed from a friend. It was okay for a while, but was a tad small for her (she had to keep her legs bent)!

We then put her in a winter suit thingy. The hood has ears, so we called her a bear! Pretty cute!

Just so she wouldn't feel left out, we put a shirt on Misha that kind of looked like a cape. It only lasted about 5 minutes! Long enough for a picture though!

I love my girls!

Ah, my 3 favorite girls!

Exersaucers are fun!

Some friends of ours had an exersaucer that they didn't need anymore so gave it to us. Aubree loves it! She giggles and jumps around in it. It keeps her entertained for long enough that we can either enjoy some down time or get a few things done around the house!

Too tired to eat

Aparently I misread Aubree's mood of sleepy as hungry the other day. About halfway through feeding her she fell asleep!

6-month checkup

Aubree went in for her 6-month checkup on Monday. She was 15 lbs 15 oz and 26 inches long. The doc thinks she's growing well and is pretty much right in the middle for weight and height. She was sad to get 2 shots in each leg though. That made her cry a little :(
But, the good news is that she slept for a good portion of the rest of the day, so daddy could get some stuff done!

Friends...

Aubree got to spend the day yesterday (and half of today) with her friend Catrece. You can check out some pics from Catrece's blog!

Like doggie like daughter

Back when Misha was a puppy, she'd sleep in some unique positions (as seen below).

This morning when I went to get Aubree up, she was on her side with her feet up against the edge of the bed. Wonder who she gets that from? :)

Smile!

Aubree was taking the advice of her t-shirt this morning. Smile!
She chatters and squeals all the time now. Here are some pictures of her giving me some big grins
and sharing her toy with Misha-doodle.

So big!

Here we are, trying to get all ready to see Miss Dana this morning. Aubree is still asleep as daddy is getting ready to put her in her car seat! She's getting so big, isn't she!

I like feet!

Ok, I know that kids like to play with their feet when they are little, and Aubree is certainly no exception. The thing is, she takes it a bit further than most!

Here, she is, stalking the wild foot! And crikey, she caught one!

Now, she's reeling it in!

Some kids suck their thumbs, and some suck their big toes! Guess which one we've got? :)

Oh, and not just one toe, let's try multiple toes!

Getting so strong! [UPDATED]

Ok, enough about Dan...let's get back to the reason you are at this blog...to look at pictures of Aubree. Just to warn you, the second picture here is not for those who may be faint of heart or weak of stomach!

"I can sit up all by myself!"

UPDATE - Ok, I got some hassles about the next picture, so I'm just making it a link and you'll have to click it yourself if you want to see it...
"I can spit up all by myself!"

I'm sorry, I know that is gross, but it just worked out that way. I was taking a picture and just happened to capture her in-progress! By the way, it looks way cooler if you look at the picture full size! :)

Skydving, continued

This shot is great! I'm going to insert my own caption because, well, you just have to with this picture!

"I think I soiled myself!"

Here's Dan and Julia and the guy Dan was strapped to!
Ok, notice his "helmet". Do you think a leather helmet is really going to help if you're falling from the sky? Maybe from the bugs you may encounter on the way down, but not much else!

Dan - Living Dangerously!

Ok, I know this doesn't have anything to do with Aubree, but I thought it'd still be fun to post this. My brother-in-law went sky diving that same weekend while we were in Ohio. So, here are some action shots!

Double -O Dan, waiting to jump (did I mention they were behind about 3 hours that day? Man, that was a long wait!)

Here's everyone looking up into the sky, waiting for Dan to jump (fall, get pushed, whatever) out of the plane.

Landing gear is down (er, up)

Yay, on the ground again!

See my pretty dress!

Here's the dress Aubree wore when we went to church with Grandma Maurer...how pretty!

Just because I'm wearing shoes doesn't mean I can't try to eat my feet!
