Children's Museum

We decided, in spite of the fact that we all have colds, that we HAD to get out of the house yesterday, so we visited the Children's Museum. We had the good fortune of showing up on the very first day of the members only preview of the Dora and Diego Exhibit. So, we got to break in some of the cute stuff in there. Aubree loved it!!!

She spent a lot of time watering flowers in Isa's flowery garden.

Here she is putting glowing stars into constellations.

She played a little on this rock wall, but it didn't go up high enough for her adventuresome self.

She got the giggles on the carousel. This is the first time she hasn't been afraid on one.

We also explored the "Dinosphere" She wasn't afraid of the huge fossils and dinosaur skeletons in the exhibit, but we did a puzzle together, and it roared at her, and she's been talking about it ever since. It apparently traumatized her. She really liked the nests. She carried dinosaur eggs around and was pretending to be a dino-mommy.

Dino-dad!
Here she is diggin' for bones.

We also explored the trains in the lower levels and the glass works.

At home looking at these pictures, she said, "That's me making a peacock!"
Gotta love her imagination. I thought we were just sticking tubes into holes. I didn't know we were making a peacock.

Thanks for the membership, Grandma and Grandpa Maurer!
Come with us next time!
We can't wait to go back. (Aubree was crying when we had to leave.)

Sweet Jada

Helping herself to a "smackerel" of honey from Pooh Bear... as if she's not already sweet enough!

Jada weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs. and 13 oz. at her 9 month appointment. She's gained about 5 lbs. in 3 months. Yay! So she's kind of a big deal.

She has added "mama" and "I wuv" ("I love you") to her vocabulary. She loves making lots of kissy noises and is standing a tiny bit on her own. She can army crawl super fast now. She is always after the dog's bone or a remote control.

Ice, Ice Baby

You could say we've had a little ice down here. We had over an inch of ice on the car, and the ground is one giant sheet of ice. Neighbor kids were playing hockey and ice skating in our street yesterday. I wish I still had skates.

Aubree, Iced In

Mom and Dad had to get me out of the house a little bit today. So we bundled up like crazy! Mommy cleared a couple of inches of ice off of my swing, and Daddy found my slide.

I was so bored that I even let mom put curlers in my hair.
after my bath yesterday.

I helped Mom make and eat oatmeal cookies. Yum!

I also got to spend almost all week in my pajamas, which makes me super happy!!

Happy First Birthday, Nicolas!

Can't believe it's already been a year, but Nicolas turned ONE on Dec. 31st.
Here's the little guy digging into his cake. And his big cousin chowing down on ice cream.

Maurer-y Christmas

Well, this is a little late, but here are a few pictures of our time in Ohio. (Thanks to Robyn who actually had her camera out!)
Here is a pretty little pile of cousins. Nicolas, Vivian, Julia, Jada & Aubree.

Lollipops in the stockings. Aubree's looking a little exhausted by this point.

No lollipops, just drool for these two.

Little cowgirls.
