Snow Day!

Aubree's first experience playing in the snow was lots of fun. In this picture she's investigating the snowball Daddy and Mommy were throwing. After careful study, she draws the conclusion that snow is cold & wet. She's truly a brilliant kid.
After a few snow angels, we went to work on a snowman. It looks like Daddy and Aubree are doing the work, but actually she got too cold, and they left Mommy to finish up.

Here's the finished snowperson. Lovely, but doomed. He toppled over after about an hour. :-( I was sad; Aubree was largely indifferent.

Big Christmas Smiles!

Can you see Jada's new teeth? The only baby who smiles and giggles her way through teething.

I know I missed, but she's a moving target. At least she looks happy.

Aubree hates photo sessions, but loved getting tackled by Jada.

Jada's getting rowdy now that she can sit up by herself. She's excited about it.

Seems a little weird to be posting giant smiles, while Aubree is throwing a HUGE tantrum upstairs, but so it goes. Please don't give up naps yet, Aubree.

An update from Misha

Brrrrr....
I'm naked.

An update from Jada

This month I did some cool stuff. I learned to say "Dada" and "Jada."
I got halfway good at standing up. I still topple over a bit while sitting, but that's because I just would rather roll around than sit still. I'm awesome at rolling!
I grew some more awesome hair.

I hung out and shared colds with Sissy. Here we are, both feeling crummy, but having some good jammy time.

Mommy and Daddy bought me a sweet "new" exersaucer.

I sported this new look for a day or so.

Most of the time I just chilled out and was happy.

No, really, I'm about the happiest kid you've ever seen.

Here, I'll proove it!!

An update from Aubree

So, other than Thanksgiving travels, November hasn't been too eventful, and Mom forgot to take pictures at Great-grandma Margie's house. Here's a little update on what we've been up to around here.
"Tent" time is my new favorite thing. Mom was remembering the card table houses of her childhood and decided to surprise me with a few days of tents in the living room. This one is a spacious, fully-decorated one-bedroom. This tent has been the coolest one so far, although the one we made yesterday was pretty cozy and had a "kitchen." Mom and Jada came in, and we read stories.

I've been doing a lot of cooking lately. My kitchen is my favorite place to be. As you can see, it is a "pants optional" kitchen, which is fine since I'm not frying any bacon. I only make pretend soup.
For once I decided I would actually smile while Mom was taking my picture. I was having a rare moment of compliancy. I have to take pity on her occasionally.

I'm not sure what I did to deserve this,
but one night Dad and Mom decided I could have my very own Dilly Bar. It was awesome!
I also got a bath that night. I think the events were related.
I have recently decided that Jada is a pretty cool playmate. I get in trouble a lot for pouncing on her. Mom keeps saying, "Be gentle!" I pretty much ignore her. I have figured out that if I run up to her at full speed and screech at her, she usually laughs at me.

I think you can tell by just looking at me that I've had a cold all month.
It's made me a little grumpy, but I'm finally getting better.
Random stuff: This month I got my first tube of cherry chapstick. I can recognize all my uppercase letters and some lowercase. If I'm awake, I always get to wear big girl panties, and I haven't had an accident in looong time. I got to put some ornaments on the Christmas tree. My favorite thing to say this month is "huh?" I say it whenever Daddy or Mommy ask me to do something I don't want to do. I think it's hilarious... they are less amused.
That's about it. Hope you've enjoyed the update!

Trick-or-Treat

Here are buds Catrece and Aubree hanging out in their costumes.

Nice doggie!

Do you think Becki's corsage is too big?

Such a pretty flower.

Look at these two cuties...

Busy week

So, lots went on this week and there are lots of pictures to show for it!

Here is a pic with Tyler, not quite 3 months old. Notice that he is about as big as our 6 month old Jada!

We've started giving Jada cereal with a little more frequency now. But what she really seems to like is the baby food that is new this week! "Sweet Potatoes make me happy", she says!

"Very happy!"

Thursday evening, we went to a place called Snapperz. It only cost $5 to get Aubree in and adults are free! She (and we) had a blast! I highly recommend it (though, you may want to go on a weekday evening...it's cheaper and less crowded!).
She went down the first slide with me kicking and screaming, but was giggling by the time we got to the bottom! Then, she went running to go down it again. After that point she showed no fear and wanted to do everying! Most of the shots were blurry, but here's a good one showing Aubree climbing up all by herself...

And here we are at the top of the 4 story "play unit". There are tons of platforms, tunnels, slides and obsticles. Did I mention that Aubree had a blast?

Jack-o-Lanterns

We carved Aubree's and Jada's pumpkins tonight. We could have gotten fancy, but Aubree really wanted triangles. It's her favorite shape after all. Jada had no opinion, so we went with the traditional design. I think they're kind of cute--the jack-o-lanterns and the pumpkin carvers! (Actually I carved Jada's and had to do all the scooping out of pumpkin guts. Aubree didn't want any part of it & Chris was cooking up the pumpkin seeds.)

Friends

Whether they are hugging, kissing, tackling, tickling, kicking or shoving, Aubree and Catrece are good little buddies. Tuesdays in October have been fun around here. Some fun facts, Aubree calls Catrece her "Trece-y Cup" (from Christy who sometimes calls her "Reese Cup"), and Catrece sings the "Aubree Rose" song for Aubree. Today she did it to cheer Aubree up after a time-out. It seems like just yesterday that we were trying to encourage them to sit up by themselves, which is what I was doing with Jada this afternoon. Now they carry on complete conversations with each other about everything. Today it was favorite colors. They were also sitting side-by-side playing the piano and singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" today. It was great!

Aubree's "must-mash"

I just had to snap these pictures at breakfast the other day. I was letting Aubree drink a mug of hot cocoa, and this perfect little chocolate moustache cracked me up. There aren't that many words that give Aubree problems, but when I showed her these pics on the camera screen, she said, "I made a 'must-mash!!'" You probably had to be there, but I was nearly in tears from laughing at her. Since then she's been asking everyone (male and female) if they have "must-mashes," so ladies, if she asks, don't take it personally.

Embrace the "Fro-hawk"

Like an afro and a mohawk got together to party on my kid's head.
She's looking a little distressed about it.

Cute little pumpkin pickers
