A Round of Drinks

One for me.... One for Mish' Aubree's best buddy is her doggie. One of her first words of the day is usually "doggie," and when she's tired, she lines herself up with a napping Misha and reclines back onto Misha's tummy with her hands behind her head. You'd kind of have to see it to believe it, but Misha is a pretty accomodating pillow. Aubree also says "mi-ha." Tonight she thought Misha might like a drink of milk before bed. My apologies to all of you germaphobes out there, but this was just too cute. I promise we didn't give the cup back to her.

Kids and their "toys"

Inspired by my sister's posting, I've got a few good pictures of Aubree playing with things that were not intended for her to play with!

Here she is playing with the TV. She especially likes to play with the glass doors just below the TV. We would obviously prefer it if she didn't!

Here we see Aubree with Misha's bone. She will go out of her way to crawl after it and then put it in her mouth...yuck! Misha seems to enjoy letting her play with it. Every time I take it away from Aubree and throw it for the dog, she'll bring it back and lay it down right beside Aubree. Then we get to go through it all over again!

No, this is not a drum Aubree is pounding on...it's Misha's food bowl. She hasn't tried to put it in her mouth yet or anything. She'll pick it up, fling it around for a bit, then just bang on it.

I have to admit, it was pretty cute when she was pounding on the bowl. She looked like she was having a great time!

Trick-or-Treat!

Aubree started out in a chile pepper costume that we borrowed from a friend. It was okay for a while, but was a tad small for her (she had to keep her legs bent)!

We then put her in a winter suit thingy. The hood has ears, so we called her a bear! Pretty cute!

Just so she wouldn't feel left out, we put a shirt on Misha that kind of looked like a cape. It only lasted about 5 minutes! Long enough for a picture though!

Like doggie like daughter

Back when Misha was a puppy, she'd sleep in some unique positions (as seen below).

This morning when I went to get Aubree up, she was on her side with her feet up against the edge of the bed. Wonder who she gets that from? :)

blogging about babysitters

So in the last few days we've had a couple of different baby sitters watch Aubree for us. On Sunday, all the folks in our Bible Study went out for some fun and games and we had a couple of teenagers watch Aubree (and Catrece). That went well for the most part. There is a funny and slightly disturbing story we could tell, but there's no need to embarrass either of the girls (in case they read this!).
Then last night a bunch of us from church went to a Hillsong United concert. It was a ton of fun since we got to hang out with friends, listen to some great tunes and also had a good worship experience. The only drawback was not getting home until about 11:30! That was a pretty long day to go without seeing Aubree (especially for mommy)!
But Aubree got to hang out with Catrece and Misha got to hang out with Sampson.
Here are a couple of pictures of the girls...man, those are some cute kids, huh? Hopefully you know which one is Aubree! :)
(Note: images taken from here)

I guess Misha wasn't photo worthy, but I assume that there would have been some cute ones of Misha and Sampson playing too!

Chillin' with my girls

Just the girls hanging out. As you can see, Misha needs love, too! She is just a little jealous, but she's being a very good doggy.

I sat like this for way too long yesterday. Aubree was conked out. Never wake a sleeping baby, especially when the baby has a set of lungs like Aubree's.

it ain't easy being Mi--sha

This mommy stuff is tricky. It's an overwhelming mixture of guilt, awe, fatigue, bliss and crankiness.

Guilt- letting the baby wail because I desperately want a shower, wondering if I'm a terrible person for sometimes really wanting to go back to work, (2 weeks- yikes), realizing it's mid afternoon and the poor puppy is swatting at me and looking anxiously at the door for a reason, looking at dishes from last Wednesday sitting on the counter and just not caring.

Awe- looking at the little tiny veins showing through her white skin and realizing she's a complete and perfect little person- I'm just amazed by all her miniature features from her eyelashes to her pinky toes.

Fatigue- umm... yeah, anyone who's even seen a baby gets this one

Bliss- watching her sleep, feeling her warm little breaths on my neck when she snuggles up against me, watching her eyes light up when she sees me or Daddy, listening to her funny little chuckles and knowing that I'm the one who caused them... too many things to write.

Crankiness (always followed by a healthy dose of guilt!)- will I ever be able to go anywhere ever again, and if I do happen to actually make it out on the town, will I ever be able to eat dinner in a restaurant without holding a squirming crying, sweaty baby?

I'm not complaining. Even on the tough days, she's still the answers to all my prayers, and I'm sure some day the dog will forgive me for the neglect. Poor Misha- it's tough being a big sister, too.
